A full walkthrough to get you up and running on Recordly, from signing up to logging your first transaction.
Head to app.recordly.co.uk and tap the menu icon at the top left. From here you can choose to sign in if you already have an account.
If you don't have an account yet, tap the menu and select Sign Up instead of Sign In to begin creating your account.
Choose whether you're signing up as an Individual or a Company, then fill in your name, email and a secure password. Agree to the Terms and Conditions and tap Sign Up.
Once you're signed up, you'll land on your profile page. You'll see a reminder that your profile is incomplete — this just means a few more details are needed before you can start using the app.
Scroll down to fill in your phone number and, if relevant, your National Insurance number, Unique Tax Reference and home address.
Add your first name, last name, email and phone number. These help your accountant identify and manage your account correctly.
Scroll down to the Home Address section and fill in your address details, then tap Save Details to confirm everything.
Next, you'll need to add at least one income source before you can start using the app. Choose from CIS Contractors, Employment, Landlord/Property Income, Pension Income, or Self-Employment — whichever applies to you.
Depending on the income type you choose, you'll be asked for details like your trade, business name and business address. Fill these in and save.
Once saved, you'll see a confirmation that your income source has been successfully added, along with a summary of the details you entered.
From the main menu you can access your Dashboard, Profile, Accountant details, Income Sources, Transactions and Submissions at any time.
Your Dashboard gives you a clear view of your total income, expenses and net amount for the current tax period, along with a summary of your income sources.
To log a transaction, choose whether it's Income or an Expense.
Select which income source this transaction belongs to — for example, your self-employment income.
Fill in the transaction date, field, amount, whether VAT is included, and any notes. You can also attach a receipt or document, then tap Save.
You'll see a confirmation that your income record has been successfully created, and it will now appear in your Transactions list.
Get one-tap access to your portal, just like a regular app — no App Store needed.
